Bootlegger is one of the most challenging and spectacular grind events of the year! There are two routes (58 and 85 miles) that start and end in downtown Lenoir, North Carolina, and walk through the beautiful and wild Wilson Creek Gorge. The 58-mile route has about 4,500 feet of elevation gain, while the 85-mile route has about 7,250 feet.
Keep your head up and take in the scenery as the Bootlegger takes you through historic Lenoir Town and into the heart of the “Other Pisgah,” also known as the Ranger Grandpa District. Both the 85- and 58-mile routes wind through the countryside before taking you through a wonderland of gravel and challenging terrain.
The two roads diverge just before Coffey’s General Store and Museum, and the longer route leads to Maple Seeley Road. The race track will be well marked in the Pisgah Production style. Food and drinks will be provided after the race.
