At its core, Age of Mythology PC takes the classic RTS model of gathering resources, building bases, and building armies, but adds a historical twist. You start by choosing one of three cultures: Greek, Egyptian, or Norse, each with different roles, organizations, and gods. Once you choose your culture, you build a thriving civilization, gathering resources like food, wood, gold, and supplies (the currency used to summon the gods). The mythology is inspired by ancient mechanics. Depending on which god you worship, you’ll unlock a variety of divine powers and mysterious creatures that can be unleashed into the midst of battle.
For example, if you dance like the Greeks and pray to Zeus, you can wield powerful weapons and mysterious creatures like Pegasus. As you progress through the game, you’ll progress through a series of levels, each unlocking new rooms, technologies, and powers. Compatibility is where Windows 11’s legacy comes to life. Battles are fought with a mix of traditional and modern warfare.
Standard heroes, weapons, and armor form the backbone of your army, but it’s the addition of monsters like the Minotaur, Cyclops, and Hydra that make combat even more intense. The gods can intervene on their own, giving you the power to call down natural disasters or bless your troops with success.
